We enjoyed a peaceful holiday in stylish accommodation
We arrived at Holiday House Bribie tired after a long journey. The House Concierge greeted us and gave us a tour of the The Shell House. We immediately noticed the wonderful scents and the peaceful calm in the villa.
The House Concierge gave us a quick orientation about how to reach the beach and the best places for dinner. Then she left and we settled into a comfortable stay.
The first morning of our stay was rainy and misty so we pottered around The Shell House, admiring the detail of the finishes.
From the pottery in the dining room to the eco-friendly products on the sink. Holiday House Bribie has thought of the smallest details. The clear and crisp interiors made us feel tranquil and rested.
When the rain cleared, we ventured down the bush track and popped out amongst the sand dunes.
The views were absolutely incredible! Apart from the occasional walker, we were utterly alone to enjoy the serenity of the beach.
Dan brought out the drone and captured these stunning photos of Woorim surf beach on Bribie Island.
We could not believe that this expansive beach is only an hour from Brisbane. Bribie Island is the fourth biggest sand island in the world; we had found true island paradise!
That night we bought some staples from the local grocers and made a delicious meal in the kitchen. There is nothing better than eating fresh, crusty bread dipped in soup in front of a crackling fireplace.
On our final day, we went bushwalking in the Winter cool. We were in love with the dappled light and the fresh bush scents of the island’s interior.
Forrest sounds filtered through the trees with sounds of birds calling and waves lapping against the shore.
We followed a wallaby bounding across the tracks and we came upon kangaroos too.
We brought our boat with us because there is plenty of parking at Holiday House Bribie. We took the boat out onto Pumicestone Passage and let the boat float in the currents.
The Glass House Mountains rose against the skyline like sentinels. We bobbed along admiring the view as we poured hot coffee from our Thermos flasks.
Finally we made our way back to The Shell House for a hot, steamy shower.
That night we ate dinner at El Pigface – the local Mexican cantina. Thanks for the margaritas Ross and Julie!
Finally we stumbled back to The Shell House and fell into bed, exhausted and happy.
These are the faces of two happy guests! Thank you Holiday House Bribie. We would love to come again!
